[12:00 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: Welcome to Safe Waters Foundation weekly aquatic support gathering. My name is Miranda. I will be leading today’s meeting.
Welcome new and old aquatics and friends!
[12:01 PM] Grace (Matriarch Mermaid): YAY!!! \ (@o@)/ / YAY!!!
[12:01 PM] Jari Nightfall: \o/
[12:01 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: ?
[12:01 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: People seem to arrive late and depart early. Please don’t be offended but as leader I will try to keep the meeting going. We don’t repeat things for latecomers – a log is posted on our blog after the meeting. This is not a place for public debate – this is a helpful place. we all help each other slive an aquatic lifestyle.
[12:01 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: Because we usually have good attendance – please take a moment to remove all extra attachments and huds. We’d like you to dress low lag. Big poofy hair and jewelry are big culprits, as are bubbles, script things, huds, and such. If we all cooperate, more merfolk can participate with less crashing. Thank you for your help with this.
[12:02 PM] Jari Nightfall: -> just sacrafied my blunt. you owe me ^^
[12:02 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: yeah can’t smoke it down here anyway
[12:02 PM] Jari Nightfall: ^^
[12:02 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: points to the no smoking sign
[12:02 PM] (Unnamed): Dahlia Bouevier Mermaid’s Call (wear & click your back to start/stop): Playing…
[12:02 PM] Jari Nightfall: – oh i thought that was for the garnment. no smokings allowed =)
[12:02 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: so how was yer week seafolk?
[12:03 PM] Grace (Matriarch Mermaid): I THINK i have smoke particles
[12:03 PM] Amadine Abonwood: Wor, work work!
[12:03 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: i put it up because it was funny
[12:03 PM] Grace (Matriarch Mermaid): freak people out if I smoke
[12:03 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: I suddenly had a very beetlejuice image of that…
[12:04 PM] Jari Nightfall: ^^
[12:04 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: i was like “yes I’d be very concerned too”
[12:04 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: anyone want to share their week?
[12:05 PM] Grace (Matriarch Mermaid): mine was peaceful accepting my boundaries
[12:05 PM] Jari Nightfall: thats a new one ^^ ?
[12:05 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: ah
[12:05 PM] Carline Thistle Studley Moon (FlowerTower Resident): I took out my Halloween decorations for work in real life so I can set everything before the students see me on Monday.
[12:05 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: I should say the same…
[12:06 PM] Grace (Matriarch Mermaid): excellent
[12:06 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: thats neat ?
[12:06 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: okay time to swim on
[12:06 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: Our priority today is support – we’re all here to help each other, cause we’re awesome like that.
[12:07 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: okay so the order is my introduction-done, introduce the new folks, sharing questions, ideas, and support to help each other-ie; tails, hair, bodies, AOs, requests, etc, then PSAs and promotion of events, sales or what ever else needs to be shared, then I close us out with our goals, maybe a group hug and picture.
So here we go!!
[12:07 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: Introductions
If you have brought someone new to this gathering, please introduce them now. If you are new and wish to introduce yourself please do so now.
just click on the podium to sit on it or sit were you are if thats just easier.
[12:08 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: A very short sentence is all that is needed – for example: hi, I am (your name) and I discovered aquatics (brief description of how you found us) and what I love about being aquatic is (explain here).
[12:08 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: so any new folk? raise a hand, fin, flipper, or tentacle

[12:19 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: that I know of, yeah. a few rp groups, a few sim groups…
[12:19 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: questions often include tails, aos. language etc.. so if you have any pressing questions about merfolking in sl now is a great time to ask.

[12:22 PM] Lily Lewellen (Lily Fairelander) giggles.
[12:22 PM] Jari Nightfall: I think my LM’s are not up to date. Heaven of merfolk was a good one. And Mystara. But i believe both are gone
[12:22 PM] Carline Thistle Studley Moon (FlowerTower Resident): I have been to Fairy Crossing.
[12:22 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: I know a place Kat (sapphira) would share for it… owners name is Barbie…
[12:23 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: I forgot the name
[12:23 PM] ??zz? ??????? (Kalypso Evergarden): are you talking about creations park?

[12:27 PM] Asteria Maxima (Asteria0Maxima Resident) raises a hand
[12:27 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: yes Max?
[12:28 PM] Asteria Maxima (Asteria0Maxima Resident): Not a question per se, but since we’re throwing out all sorts of photogenic places, could I give a shout to one I discovered not all that long ago? It’s now officially on our roster of Hangouts
[12:28 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: go for it
[12:30 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: after she shares we’ll move on…
[12:31 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: it’s on the hangout right? you can say the name
[12:32 PM] Asteria Maxima (Asteria0Maxima Resident): I thought I knew my share of realistic beaches, but this one really takes the cake. Shell, even the tides rise and fall at this one! The name of the place, “Hiraeth,” is, according to its owners, a word without faithful translation. It is a sense of nostalgia, of longing for somewhere that feels like home, even though you’ve only just come ashore there for the first time. And I’ll tell you, they do NOT kid around! Anyone interested in an LM, please ping me. You simply MUST find the time to go and check it out for yourself!
[12:33 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: very nice
[12:33 PM] Dahlia Bouevier: oooh thank you for the share, im interested ^^
[12:33 PM] ???????? ???????? (BenjaminButtonss Resident) shouts: Tala Fellow mers!!

[12:34 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: so thank you for the questions. time to swim on.
[12:34 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: Quick reminders/announcements
Ad boards are awesome because they can help newer merfolk and aquatics find places to swim. If you need mer traffic, please consider renting an ad board.
[12:34 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: Perks include helping the group and being allowed to post ads in the group chat twice per week. Add in the fact that anyone can ask for the stick and that is great exposure.
[12:35 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: You might also consider being a hang out.
[12:35 PM] Miranda Barrowstone: Be sure to visit the safe waters foundation web site and event calendar at https://swfsl.com/
please also remember to contact ???? (Tabitha Sirensong) if you have an event you want on the calender. she did send out a form I’ll pass it to you if you need it.

The only restrictions I have is NO adult locations! We’ve had problems with paces that signed up in the past and even though THEY didn’t sell or contain adult content, people were not able to visit their locations due to the restrictions. IF you still need an application PLEASE contact me privately! The hunt begins in just a couple of weeks.
[12:45 PM] Fawn Cobalt: when would the hunt begin?
[12:47 PM] Amadine Abonwood: Is it bad I don’t remember the dates? I always run it across Halloween for two weeks.

- to increase awareness in the general public that there is an underwater option
- to make mer resources (events, projects, groups, retailers, sims, designers) visible and easily accessible
- to assist, as possible, with the viability of mer resources so they may continue to be available to the community
- to promote the conservation of rl oceans, lakes and waterways and the nature that relies on them
Now go mingle and explore! Thanks for joining us this day!!
